Everything you need to know about credits, billing, and consumption-based pricing.
A credit is the unit of usage on Hatchproof. Every action the platform runs — an analysis, a generated insight, an automation — consumes credits based on how much work it takes. Lightweight actions cost a fraction of a credit; heavier, AI-intensive ones cost more. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and you can watch usage in real time from your dashboard, so there are never surprises.
Your subscription covers your plan's features and a set amount of included credits every month — the predictable, flat part of your bill. Usage-based (consumption) costs only apply when you go beyond that included allowance, like on-demand top-ups or Cloud + AI usage. You're never charged for consumption you didn't choose, and included credits are always used first.
You won't be cut off mid-task. If you reach your monthly allowance you can buy on-demand top-ups instantly, or move to a plan with a larger allowance. On paid plans, unused credits also roll over into the next month up to your plan's cap — so a quiet week is never wasted capacity.
Yes. Plans are flexible — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately, so you get more capacity right away; downgrades and cancellations apply at the end of your current billing cycle, and you keep full access until then. Pricing is shared across unlimited users, so you pay for capacity, not seats.
